This subject is the most important one. This software exists for that purpose,
to create a new puzzle.
Compiler Menu
- View - Unlimited number of crossword constructions can be open
at the same time. With this menu, a hidden construction window can be brought
to front.
- Open - Load a saved crossword construction.
- Save - Sava the active construction. If it is new, you'll get a
dialog-box to
specify the filename.
- Save as... - Save the active construction to a file that you want to
specify.
- Close - Close the active crossword construction.
- Export - Export the active crossword construction to html-files.
(Note: you
have to wordbreak the words manually in the html-sourcecode)
- New Puzzle - Opens a dialog where the properties of the new puzzle
can be specified.
- Stop - Stops the running compiler.
- Continue - Lets the compiler continue automatic construction of your
crossword.
- Show letters - Hide or show letters of the answers.
- Anti Aliasing - Turns on or off smooth display output.
- Clue-Chooser - Shows the clue-chooser window. In this window all
available clues for a specific field is displayed.
- Crosword Options... - Shows a dialog window where you can setup the
crossword display properties like font, cell-width, padding, border, colers
etc. (Not much implemented yet)
- Zoom in - The active crossword construction window is displaying the
content a bit larger.
- Zoom out - The active crossword construction window is displaying
the content a bit smaller.
Create crossword puzzle manually
To create a new crossword manually, go to Compiler->New Puzzle.
Accept default-size or change to your preferred puzzle size. In section
Algorithm choose manual and press Generate-button.
The Arensus Crossword Puzzles Compiler has 4 modi
- Place clue modus.
- Stops the compiler while he is generating your
puzzle automatically.
- Let the compiler finish your crossword puzzle
for you.
- Delete a placed clue.
Click into an empty field where you want to place your clue.
A definitions-window is opened. It contains all available clue-answer
pairs. A first definition is automatically chosen by Arensus Crossword Puzzles
Compiler.
If you want another clue, search in definition-window and select your favorite.
The old clue-answer-pair will be replaced.
Iterate the previous process and click on another empty field and try
to complete your crossword puzzle.
You always can let Arensus Crossword Puzzles Compiler finish your puzzle. It
tries
not to change your selections but will remove them when needed.
